 if you want to go a bit further

i would look at LED pixel tapes and a dmx decoder like the DMX king, it can
do dmx or network

i run this setup off of power tool batteries with a adaptor/sled and a buck
boost regulator
search amazon for ASIN ‏ : ‎ B094QTY788

you could wrap the pixels around a piece of dowel or conduit or other pipe
to give it shape and using pixels can let you do colors or adjust levels at
the top or bottom
