[SML] Bubble Machines?

I typed the message below, before re-reading the message, and saw that this not being performed by children, but rather college age kids.  Though, the idea of student-made effects is still valid.  So if you have any students inclined to making things like a foam making machine, a DIY approach may be much preferable, even if price were not an issue.

Kids are cheap. If the washing machine is a prop, just put a kid inside with the necessary equipment. And there are cheap toy bubble blowing machines.  I've even seen some cheap versions at Dollar stores.  If the washing machine is real, then put the kid upstage.
If you want foam, then here is one very cheap brainstorm. Pre-make the foam offstage, and put into a plastic bag.  Then inside the washing machine, attach a nozzle at the appropriate place.  I mean a nozzle like a floor sweeping attachment to a vacuum hose. Then before it is put onstage, attach the bag of foam to the nozzle  and have a kid squeeze the bag to push the foam out.
Neither of the above will be as good as what a professional foam machine can do. But, if the kids are involved with making it happen, it will be a lot for fun for them.

I second the concern that the bubbles can make for a VERY slippery stage.  So, I suggest putting a carpet or ground cloth in the area where bubbles will exist, or where the liquid can (or perhaps will) be spilled.
