[SML] Quiet solenoid?

I used some of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDLUTPC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to control a ‘diaper drop’.
They are ‘linear actuators’ (motors) that are for door locks.
Unfortunately, they drive fully to one end, then fully to the other end; so they do make a little noise when the get to the end. We didn’t find it noticeable enough to be a problem.
However, ‘linear actuators’ can also be driven a certain distance, so you could build your own control that doesn’t drive them against the stop.
For $42, you could buy these, and just play with them.
Cheers
Jim

Car lock actuators are available for well under $10. They use a motor, rather than a solenoid, so don't go bang. I've not used one. Some have 5 wires. But I have no idea what each does
