Subject: [SML] We're Hiring

Hi Folks,

We're hiring.
Specifically, I need one or two "Product Development Technician(s)" in our Florida HQ (Near Ft Lauderdale).
If you have recent grads, or know someone looking for a 9-5 gig, PLEASE pass this along to them. This is a career-track position. There is opportunity for advancement, and Chauvet continues to be a rapidly growing company.

This is above entry level, but we're not averse to hiring someone new to manufacturing, if they have lighting production/repair experience. Pay is negotiable based on experience, but a decent candidate would start in the 50s, and an exceptional candidate would likely start in the 60s.

This role is a key component of our product development team. This person will work closely with our Product Managers (and sometimes our Outsource Manufacturing Partners) to bring our products from the spit-ballin' phase all the way to market, and beyond to retirement.
You'd primarily be focused on pre-production Sample evaluation and testing, and testing new software revisions in our launched fixtures. We occasionally assist our Customer Service team with difficult/unusual challenges affecting released fixtures. Experience as a lighting technician and with repairing electronics are key qualifiers.
Experience as a trainer would be a boon (as the Product Team provides training on new products to our QC, Customer Service, Marketing, and Sales teams).

A day in the work-life might include testing photometrics on our goniophotometer, evaluating initial prototypes (everything from electrical safety, to software, to ergodynamics), testing and confirming product specifications, working with new samples (upgrading samples with new parts, checking software layout/functionality, confirming DMX/RDM/Artnet/sACN functionality), testing console personalities, working with GDTF files, maybe a little CAD (if that's what you're into), and most importantly providing written feedback on whatever it is that you're working on.

You (or your friend/student/colleague) can apply right on the webpage.

Please reach out to me with any questions.
