When I was at the Alley Theatre, we used Fabco Pancake Cylinders with a 3” Bore & 1” stroke that bolted to a steel cater plate. We ran 1/4” tubing from an air tank to a manifold to all the extend ports of the air cylinders & nothing on the retract ports. This way the scenery was lifted with the flip of a switch & the weight of the scenery lowered the unit when we vented the system. No bags to burst.
