The quick answer is athletic team portable bleachers. Google “aluminum bleachers” and many options will appear. The versions on wheels are typically fast to set up.

Is this for a one-time event / a few times a year or are you needing something that can be set up and taken down as often as weekly?

You are probably better off renting something like this. Any Expo company will have something like this in their stock inventory but there's probably not going to be a whole lot of choice as to type. Your few basic option, do you want folding chairs or not folding chairs. Do you want them to clip together. what type of floor surface will you want. Will there be a forklift? As you can see the list of questions can pile up quickly.

So in your shoes I would call the nearest convention center and ask for a couple recommendations to local contractors. Work out from there.

I am designing for a portable show, that will be done under large tents on grass. We are planning for audiences up to 1,000. We don't want to get into raked seating, since the audience will be wrapped around the whole stage area, so the seating is not too many rows deep.

Are there any portable audience seating system that are designed for quick set-up/tear-down? Perhaps with groups of seats ganged together? It also must be suitable for use on grass.
