As I read the sales bumf, there are two versions of the device; the
newer version that can be set up for use on 1/4" line, and the
original version that can't.  I'd say the reply to Chris Pike's query
confirms this. I note also that they're not too specific about what
sort of line material & braid is appropriate for these things to grab
onto...  I also see a "maximum holding power" - which is not the same
thing as a Load Rating or SWL - as "200 lbs."  Approach with caution,
ye who enter here. And it goes without saying (but when has that ever
stopped me from saying anything before?) that the SlipKnot should
absolutely positively NEVER be used for overhead lifting.
