Paul and I were Facebook friends Among his many and respected talents was photography, one less likely to have shown up here. He had an eye for images rendered in black and white that were marvellously cluttered and oddly structured, often seeming like pen and ink drawings or fractals. A very distinctive style. I once sent him a photo of a very old dilapidated wooden water tunnel that I took, saying it struck me as the sort of thing he would have stopped and made art out of. He was most appreciative, and wanted to know where it was located, in case he ever got close by in his travels. 

A great loss.
