[SML] Curtain cleaning

Locally (Vancouver BC), we send to the local drape manufacturer (Stage Fab), and they send it out to Coits Cleaners.

Beware, they will shrink. But if cleaning more than 1 drape, they won’t shrink the same amount!!!

Our velour drapes, when washed and fire treated, came back shorter, some only a few inches, and couple came back 6” shorter! Hard to trim their pipes now.

You should also re-treat the drape(s) as well, since the washing will remove the previous treatment (unless they are IFR). But they’ll still shrink.

Spot cleaning? Scrape the paint off (cut it off the knap) with a razor blade?

Good luck

What is everyone doing to clean stage curtains [Commando Cloth, Duvetene, etc.] in the event they get paint, stage blood, etc… on?
