Hi everyone
I just bought some City Theatrical wireless DMX: 1 transmitter and 2 receivers (the Multiverse system) (2 of 3 = tariff free!!)
I read the manual when I had some to demo, but I'm a little short of background knowledge for these.
What are some good tricks and tips for using the gear?
My venue only has 2 hard line DMX universes (1 to dimmers, 1 out to the venue, which full for the house LEDs).
I'm planning to designate 1 receiver as U3 and the other as U4 (so they are plug and play for me or the other board ops if they choose to pull them out for an event; no programming required on the day of the event).
Typically I'm going to bring 1 out and put it on stage for the floor rental package. The second is available to go on stage or up in the air if needed. I may install it up there (unplugged), but it's pretty rare we have time to hang that many movers.
I'm going to connect the transmitter in the sound pit, next to the lighting RFR unit.
But for the unit programming (frequencies, strength, etc), what are the best settings? Any advice or directions or warnings is appreciated.
I'm in a 1200 seat concert hall, lots of cement and steel (1997 build), university campus, with large wifi emitters for the campus public (and private) wifi connections.
(and of course all the wireless gear for the audio department (mics, IEM, remote controls for their consoles).
Thanks very much for any guidance provided.
