This is a new position; 30-40 years ago, the whole thing was two people: a director and a TD.
Now there’s a half dozen FT and a couple of folks who come in for special projects. Unlike many places, the program is growing.

Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin, USA is looking for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater in Lighting and Sound. This is a new position. I believe salary range 60K - 65K. (Living Wage for a single adult is $44,500, online research says average for Assistant Professor is mid 70s.)

Teach one course each trimester, coach/mentor student designers/techs, manage afternoon lab hours with the production manager, assist with coordination and finding guest artist designers, and be at tech rehearsals. COME FROM AWAY is the first show this fall. Opera, musicals, dance, and plays produced. Lots of design opportunities in the community if you're so inclined as well as IATSE work, especially in the summers.

Students tend to be highly intelligent, driven, and collaborative. Most states and 40+ countries represented (about 15% of students not from USA) Class sizes are small - design studio seats 8. It's the kind of campus people put down roots at and stay for decades. I was called in to teach the design class this spring and had a blast. One of the least toxic work and educational environments I've ever seen - and care is taken to keep it that way.

Happy to answer questions; application is CV and cover letter - please include a link to your online portfolio.
