Pat has had a small group of long-standing local theater folk helping her out through a long decline. It's been very hard for them. They are the heros.

Pat's one of the good ones - I never had the good fortune to get out to the west coast to meet her, but she always looked out for the people on this list and always offered an open door. The stories she shared with us of her journalism career by the Great Lakes, getting in on the first voyage of Talk Like a Pirate day, and the theater work she did in Albany OR with Don Taco - who I hope is still on this list - were markers of a life well-lived.
Dementia is hard on everyone, especially the care-givers. I hope that the place that they find for her has the best of 'em. Wherever she is and wherever she goes, may she find fair winds, safe harbor, and a constant supply of purple hair dye. She'll always be a part of this crew.
