I got a Brother laser printer free from a friend because she thought it was broken; refused to print, even though the toner cartridge was half-full. Turns out the sensors that pick up toner level are stupid and think the cart is empty - it's apparently a well-known glitch - I used the old "Fool the Toner Sensors" trick to make the thing ignore the sensor circuit, and it's been printing fine for three or four years now. I like Brother...</div><div><br></div><div>FWIW, I also have a Canon Pixima 6000i inkjet that's been a glitch-free workhorse for five or six years.
