Director who will report to the Technical Director. For more than three decades,
NYTW has provided a home to artists to hone their creative voice, a space for

work. The Workshop is renowned for a long list of acclaimed work including the
Tony Award winning <i>Once</i>, recently on
Broadway,  Jonathan Larson’s <i>Rent</i>,
Rick Elice’s <i>Peter and the Starcatcher</i>, Tony Kushner’s <i>Homebody/Kabul</i>,
along with Caryl Churchill’s <i>Far Away, A Number </i>and last season’s <i>Love
and Information. </i>NYTW’s productions have received a Pulitzer Prize, 17 Tony
Awards, and assorted Obie, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards.<span style="color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial"></span></span></p>

supervising the scene shop over-hire staff, during builds, load-ins, load-outs,
technical rehearsals, and preview performances</span></p>

Director to ensure design and build deadlines are met.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">- Coordinates the rental of scene shop.</span></p>

Coordinating with outside companies, creating bids, and drafting for outside
shows.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">- Researching and purchasing materials.</span></p>

as needed.</span></p>

load-ins.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">- Help maintain safety standards in scene shop
and theatre.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">- Maintain tools and equipment in scene shop.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">- Filling in for the Technical Director in their
absence.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:black;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">Ideal candidate will have bachelor’s degree in
theatre and 2 years of professional experience in Technical Theatre.  Comfortable working in a full service scene
shop including wood working, welding and automation.  Highly skilled in AutoCAD or Vectorworks.  Experience in creative rigging in a versatile
ever changing space, chain motors, and some stage automation. </span><span style="font-size:9pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">He/She must be a detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized
collaborator with strong communication skills and be responsive to the
pressures of multiple tasks.  The ability
to work well with others and have a sense of humor is highly preferred.<span style="color:black"></span></span></p>
