This is a top-rated Northern Hydraulic...err...Tool one. I just
asked them about replacement modules, no luck, my helmet is too
old. <br>

I left it under a bright light from the time I finished welding,
showered, etc. Needs to be under a really bright light just to
darken (I thought these were supposed to fail dark).<br>
<br>
Out of curiosity I popped the module open. Two CR2330 cells. One's
only reading 0.5V so I guess I could try replacing them as a first
try. I'm surprised they're not rechargeable or just a big
capacitor.<br>

<div>I have had one that I got at hazard freight tools. It died
like yours seems to be doing after four or five years of light
use. Just got the Lincoln electric one at triple the price to
replace it. The actual auto darkening module seems to be
identical, down to the mold marks, except for the stickers with
tha makers name on it. </div>
