Last night, Miss Kitty and I attended an active shooter seminar with
about 600 others, mostly teachers, that was held by the Marietta, GA
PD. The program was developed by Texas State Univ and is called
Avoid, Deny, Defend. If I had one take away, it's "do something."
Don't just sit there in a state of denial or indecision but do
something. Run away if you can. Deny access to the shooter. Or if
confronted with no other choice fight with everything and anything
you can get your hands on. There is no such thing as a fair fight
if the other person's goal is to kill you.<br>

Some may not agree with the program, that's fine, but there's a part
of this that I think we can all agree with. It's called: Don't
Name Them. The idea being that a lot of the active shooters are
trying to make a name for themselves. Go down in infamy, so to
