Here's another suggestion.     Not sure about your version, but in HSMjr, only the time has to change.  Countdown the last seconds of the game.   So how about a faux scoreboard with the scores painted on, but a real clock/timer something like:<br>

I know most basketball scoreboards only use 4 digits.  You could just hide the upper two digits.  The cool thing about this one is it can be set for second and fractions.<div><div><br>
