Actually, the doctrine addressed colonization (and when Monroe
issued it in 1823, the Falklands had already been colonized, by
practically everyone), so it sorta did deal with which country
settled it.<br>

A British possession? Technically. It gets all its food, water,
energy, and all else from Argentina. May the Sun set on the British
Empire! The Monroe Doctrine deals with Real Estate in the Americas,
not what country settled it.
