<div>There are little battery powered guitar amps that are aimed at the buskers. I think Crate made one. But I haven't looked at that world for years. </div><div><br></div><div>Dale</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div id="composer_signature"><div style="font-size:88%;color:#364f67" dir="auto">Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE smartphone</div></div><br><br>-------- Original message --------<br>From: Joe via Stagecraft <stagecraft@theatrical.net> <br>Date: 5/10/17 08:52 (GMT-05:00) <br>To: Stagecraft Mailing List <stagecraft@theatrical.net> <br>Cc: Joe <jdunfee12@yahoo.com> <br>Subject: Re: [SML] Piano/Keyboard amp <br><br><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:16px"><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_3964" dir="ltr"><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4215" size="2" face="Arial">Matthew Whiton <mattwhiton@gmail.com> asked;<br></font></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4228">>model suggestions for a piano/keyboard amp.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4195"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4213">I am sort-of looking for the same thing. However, in my case, it is to act like a rehearsal/audition amp for a smartphone to play back an MP3 accompaniment track for a vocalist. I want battery operation, with Bluetooth built in. Budget is a concern, so I have a $100 absolute max price, and much preferably $50 max.<br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_3864"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_3810" dir="ltr">I have tried out several small, portable, Bluetooth speakers. But, most didn't provide the wattage on the outside packaging. And when I tried them, they all failed my tests. Some were quite wimpy, and had a fairly small speaker in relation to the housing. On some, when I turned the volume up past about 60%, there was a gross distortion or something physically rattling inside.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_3906"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_3905">I realize that if a speaker is run by a 1-amp USB connection, the USB power will limit the wattage consumed to 5 watts. So, if a speaker with more wattage is to be run by plugging it in, it must have a 120v power cord, or other adapter that can provide the wattage.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4136"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1494419710949_4161">I imagine that Matthew would want more wattage than myself, and may not need/want battery power.
