I found out this morning that I've gone from 20 hours a week to full time with benefits. (The benefits suck, but I never had *any* before.) The change looks very positive. </div><div>We hold auditions for three shows at a time for the Corvallis Majestic Theater's Readers Theater program. I just cast Sea Marks for May, and was cast in Shakespeare In Love for April. <br data-mce-bogus="1"></div><div>My set design for Steel Magnolias is on the Majestic mainstage now. It's all about furniture, but the director wanted to do something that wasn't a realistic box set. I assembled all the window mullion pieces from 3 theaters into the skeleton of the sky, and everyone loves it. Weber’s Phantom. Pretty ambitious for a non magnet high school but our performers have the chops for it. Most dedicated crew I have ever had. Usually by this time of year I drop from 40 crew members to about 15 doing all the work for the show. This year I went from about 25 in September to 35 with possibly more coming out the week of the show. They are pretty green but they have to start somewhere. At this rate I might get to assign everyone ONE dedicated scene shift for the show to spread the jobs out. <br><br>I turn 50 this Spring and am trying to figure out if I can keep this up for another 15 or if it is time to start looking elsewhere. I guess in three weeks it will smooth out again and I wait for the May/June craziness and reconsider my career choice yet again. <br><br>Seriously I wouldn’t want to do it without the Stagecraft List having my back. I appreciate ALL of you out there, regulars and lurkers.
