If it goes away after some length of time, it's not glitter.
Is there a reliable chemical test for checking to see if something is fairy dust vs glitter? We need to be able to confirm these things after incidents occur and trying to prove if the wrong item was used.

That is a frequently stated fallacy based on the uninitiated seeing a high end installation. It isn't glitter, it is fairy dust.
