<p>Cataracts causes a very slow, gradual gray/yellow tint. So
yes, all of a sudden everything was brighter and whiter than the
day before. You have to have a certain minimum loss of vision
before insurance will cover it. The level isn't so high that
you're blind. You don't may not even realize you have a
particular problem. Since I have eye checkups regularly I knew
they were developing and I looked for specific things. I knew,
for example, that if you shot me a bird from the stage to the
light position ('75) I couldn't tell what finger you where
using. Now I can read the inscription on the ring of the hand
you have behind your back.<br>

<p>I'd been monitoring mine for 2 years and got the replacement
lenses as soon as I hit the magic level for insurance coverage.
If I had had a spare ~$8k (per eye) I'd have done it long before
cataracts to correct my myopia.</p>

would like to know from those of you lighting people who have
had it - have you felt any difference at all in color
perception? I am really afraid to mess with my eyes in that
respect, and having a new lens is not like Lasik which just
corrects your own lens.

problem with that (except dry eyes).</div>
