<p style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0"><span>The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Louisville seeks an Assistant Professor (term) for a one year appointment with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding whose teaching, scholarship/creative
work can contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs and our internationally recognized African American Theatre Program (AATP). The ideal candidate will be a scenic designer with a secondary emphasis in technical theatre (lighting, sound, projection,
management, or technical direction) with ability to mentor and guide students through the design process.</span></p>

<p style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0"><strong><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A terminal academic degree (M.F.A.) or equivalent professional experience with emphasis in scenic design and a secondary emphasis in an additional area of technical theatre, evidence of creative accomplishment, and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching
and design.</li><li>Experience working in diverse environment and/or with students from diverse backgrounds.</li></ul>
<strong><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></strong>
<ul>
<li>Experience in teaching scenic design and additional courses related to expertise for two or more years at a college level and/or commensurate professional experience, professional experience in scenic design at the regional, national, and/or international
level, and/or professional affiliations (USA/IATSE, USITT, etc.).</li><li>Evidence of skill in appropriate computer programs used in technical theatre such as Photoshop, Vectorworks/AutoCAD, etc.</li></ul>
