<div>Goggle images "aisle stair handrail theatre" and you'll see some.  Generally either at the aisle, my preference, for a length of one to five rows, or "hair pins" at one side.  The pew ends come close but I suspect not high enough and not meeting graspability

        Whilst I completely agree on the step nosing and illumination issues, I’m really curious about the handrails. How could you possibly put hand rails up those steps without blocking access to get in and out of those pews? I don’t know how high they are
 - probably too low - but could those wood-topped white end pieces be considered a broken railing?<br>
