I've been sitting on a piece of software for over a year, but just in the
last few days I've started running it through its paces.

It's called JAlbum (and it's free) http://jalbum.net/ and it plays with PC,
Mac and Linux. Like some of Photoshop's web album generators, it can create
dozens of differently-styled HTML pages, or, with one of the skin
generators, Flash-based ones.

JAlbum lets you do a huge amount of personalization, and there are lots of
different 'skins' you can choose from (or write your own, if you go that
way). I just used the BananAlbum skin to generate 3 Flash galleries - go to
the Production Photos on my page, and the top three shows are all done with
JAlbum, using the BananAlbum skin. The nice thing I like about the
BananAlbum skin is that I can go back and add more pics to the same
'gallery' without regenerating all the HTML pages the other types of web
gallery software (and the HTML skin in JAlbum) do.

Anyway, maybe something like this would appeal to you... maybe not. Go to
their website and poke around....
