      in other stuff.  Also had to skip some language lessons, I'm WAY

Even though they use sandpaper, the flap discs aren't all that good for wood as they tend to clog.  Flat abrasive discs with a backer are better.  A random orbit (aka dual action) head using adhesive discs is better still, though you said you aren't collecting attachments.  I am, though, so if you have a line on where to get the water pump attachment I'm all ears.  I have the chain saw heads (and they're a PITA but do what they say).  I've thought about attaching a bike cog to one to make an electric bike but I'm limited by the length of my extension cords.  Haven't made it out of the driveway yet.
