They fit the form factor of a par lamp and don't need a transformer to work. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with these style replacements. The venue I'm helping a friend with is a church that has architectural fixtures that use both par 64's and 56's. They don't have money to redo their lighting with new fixtures and these seem like a good retrofit. https://inductionlightingfixtures.com/products/lamps-bulbs/par-lights/. I've seen similar lamps on alibaba and amazon as well as other sites. One theatre's trash is another theatre's treasure. Unless you need the buckazoids, I'd suggest reaching out to the other theatres, community theatres, and drama groups in your area. Those Par 56's are certainly gonna be a lot better than the coffee can with a yard light they currently have.
As for Upgrading a Par 64 to DMX. Price it around, but buying new fixtures is typically your best bet. IIRC Altman used to make a retrofit LED thingy that fit into a Par 64 body. Not sure if they still do. If they are ETC Pars {BLATANT COMMERCIALISM FOLLOWS} a Source Forward upgrade might be the best solution.
