In the grand scheme of things, needing good color rendering in the paint shop is a hold-over from the days of "full-ish spectrum" tungsten lighting.  Increasingly the color of the painted object in the theater will be determined by the quality of the light coming from the LED fixtures, <br>

I wish ETC and others made some affordable wash fixtures for paint shop use with the same LEDs in them<br>
