I only knew Pat through her posts here, and a couple of emails. She's always been one of my "Imaginary Internet Friends". We never got the chance to meet in person.</div>

I've posted this news about Pat over on the SML Facebook page, but for those who still read the mailing list, here's some news from a friend of Pat:<br>

"this is to a subset of folks who are on my list that are friends of Pat Kight.<br>
This is a heads up that things are changing in Pat's life.<br>
Pat is currently (Friday, March 20, 2026) in the emergency room at her local hospital. She may be stuck in a bed there for as long as 20 days as they seek a placement for her. She needs 24/7 care now due to her advanced dementia and cannot return home; there's
no real medical reason for them to admit her to the hospital itself, so she's kind of stuck in no-woman's land.<br>
For those of you out of the loop, this is a positive step. She has needed 24/7 care for some time now, and for a myriad of reasons that hasn't yet happened. This forces the issue."<br>

This is all the information I have. If I hear more, I'll let everyone know. Please keep Pat in your thoughts. She has been a good friend since we met on the internet *mumblety-mumble* years ago.<br>
