[SML] Friendly Bell

Go visit your local home centers and start auditioning doorbells. 
Usually 12 VAC, and come in a variety of friendly and not so friendly 
tones.    Failing that, go to your local musical instrument emporium and 
audition the glockenspeils and suchlike.  FOr those, you probably have 
to create an electric striker.
