Yeah, what Bill said. I have a batten of 500w fresnels in a region of
my shop, and it's great. I think the bigger problem is finding the
best LED solution for you... if you/they are thinking of some sort of
plug-and-play solution to your 500w incandescents, there aren't any
LEDs like that with anything close to the lumens output you are/were
getting. Troffers or such are pretty much the way to go, which means
all new fixtures. (In other words, screw-in LED bulbs aren't gonna cut
it.)
But maybe your Powers That Be already understand that.
