Have you considered going mirrorless? Canon makes one, and you can buy 
an adaptor that will let you use your existing Canon lenses with it. I 
haven't gone the mirrorless route (yet), but a lot of my photographer 
friends are switching/adding these pocket-sized, lightweight models to 
their arsenal, and report great results. This seems to be the latest in
