[SML] Stapling Lauan

I always glue and staple lauan facing for hollywoods.  I haven't had a
trouble with them pulling through.  Are these being subjected to some
particularly heavy use or vibration?

I work with the students here to make sure they've got the right amount of
pressure from the compressor so they aren't punching through the lauan.
You can also adjust the depth setting on most staple guns to make sure that
they are just sinking flush and not penetrating too deep.  Keeping the
staple perpendicular to the grain gives it a bit more bite.

I have trouble locating these in my area- the big box stores only seem to
have narrow crown staples, but my college used wide crown staples in their
pneumatics which have better grip on the lauan, and might help you out.
