I have both wide and narrow crown pneumatic staplers, but the wide-crown
only takes the common T-50 staples which only come up to 9/16" long. 
Still, the wide crown is good for thin material.  I just stapled a bunch
of thick vinyl sheeting inside a wooden enclosure.
