Most newspapers that run their own presses (and there are fewer of those 
all the time) will sell newsprint roll-ends (rolls of newsprint as wide 
as a double newspaper spread, removed from the press when they're too 
short to do a reasonable print run) really cheap. Like $2-$3 bucks for 
several hundred feet of paper.
