Microsoft claims it's such an improvement that it deserved to jump over  
one digit, but a more likely theory I read is that there is a lot of  
legacy Javascript out there that uses "Win 9" as a shortcut for Windows  
95. By jumping to Win 10 they avoid having all those website misidentify  
the new OS. Win 1 was VERY long ago. :-)
