[SML] Vectorworks Issue

So very recently, shift-click to select multiple objects on my Macbook
Pro (Mid 09, VW2014 SP5) stopped working.  I've tried the few things I
saw online - repairing permissions, etc., but nothing seems to solve
the problem.

Have any of you had this issue, and know how to solve it?

I've posted on SML and VW Theatre discussion lists to hopefully get
someone who might know the solution.
