Indeed, once it's out of the computer, QLab and the computer don't
particularly care. Best if it's a converter that properly identifies
itself to the computer w/r/t EDID/DDC. The Blackmagic converters, of
course, work quite well.

That's not to say the Blackmagic output won't work, it's just adding
unnecessary overhead in most cases, when the converter isn't
horrendously more expensive, and often a more useful tool to have
around.
