I think that may very well have been it.... the positive contacts in
the AT mics compress a bit as needed, but they can also slip under the
plastic, thus not letting it spring back out.  A little angled
pressure to pop them back out, and they're making solid contact
again.... at least for now.  I need to find something small, but rigid
enough, to squeeze under them to pull them out more, and/or get some
packing under them.
