Not to be Pedantic, but, Mimeographs used ink and had no smell, Spirit
Duplicators (rexograph, Ditto machine etc used alcohol and resulted in a
delicious smell and a cool to the touch page when fresh out of the machine.
Not that i clearly remember the difference after all these years.
