No, the school isn't forcing anything.  To "force" that view, it would
have to compel (under threat of some penalty) its students to see or
work on the show without question.

I would argue that it's not even "promoting" the view, even if it
"promotes" the show.

Your idea of the school ("as an instrument of the state") forcing it's
view *merely* because it's being presented as an acceptable
alternative?  Dangerously close to the asinine rhetoric of the
religious right who wail and gnash their teeth at the idea that LGBT
individuals deserve the same rights of marriage and parenthood as
everyone else, by saying that the government is "forcing homosexuality
on us."

Poppycock.
