It also helps that I flew business class (first time ever! Lie-flat bed!)
which meant I was first off the plane, first in line at immigration, first
bags on the baggage carousel, etc. Highly recommended (on someone else's
dime, of course).

But you can't avoid the half mile+ of walking between disembarkment and
immigration.
