There is a company called Yondr that provides a system that locks your cell
phone in a bag that only unlocks outside the performance venue.

The system is being used by several artists

As people enter the venue, their phones will be placed in Yondr cases.

Once they enter the phone-free zone, the cases will lock. Attendees maintain
possession of their phones and are now free to enjoy the experience without
distraction...

If at any point attendees need to use their phones, they simply step outside
of the phone-free zone to unlock the case.

The other solution is to go to Canada, buy a cell phone jammers, smuggle it
into your venue, turn it on, risk the $25,000/day FCC fine, and put a note in
the lobby explaining that the building mechanism make for bad signals and
"first responders" should contact their caller and give them the box office
number like we used to do before cell phones and pagers.
