Hey, just a suggestion to folks who have decommissioned fire hoses and
standards hanging about (or are lucky to be present as Facilities is
removing them) - see if you can get the hose and bits and store them
in your prop room.... they're getting hard to come by.....
particularly those smaller-diameter hoses, which look good on stage.
Last spring, we had a show where we needed a fire hose, and the local
fire dept. wouldn't loan one, due to liability, of course, but our
prop tart was able to talk one out of a local fire museum..... and
they would only loan it with a signed "contract" relieving the museum
of any responsibility should the hose be used in an attempt to put out
a fire.

They wouldn't/didn't have brass fittings (nozzle) to loan, but our
propster did an excellent job fussing an acceptable nozzle out of
random bits and bobs.
