[SML] A use for half charged batteries.

All the sound guys have a problem.  At the end of the gig, there is a box full of partially used batteries from all the wireless gadgets.  Here is a fine use for them.

Ah, but they are complete! Many separate versions of the
magnet-battery-magnet-coil system are formed as it moves through the
long coil. In each case, current flows through the magnets, through
the coil, and back to the other end of the battery. Here's a motor
using the same design principle:

Note that no change of polarity is required. That's because it's a
homopolar motor. Unlike commutated motors, the axis of rotation is
parallel to the magnetic field.
