[SML] turntable motors

   I've been asked about the feasibility of using a motor drive for the 
turntable to be used in an upcoming production. Without experience with 
electric motors, I don't know how to start in calculating the size of 
motor needed to drive a 16' diameter unit that's weighing in at 
approximately 1100 pounds, plus be able to reverse direction. Can 
someone point me to a table or formula that I can use?
   Any help will be much appreciated.
