> Also we have some nice big windows that let the sunlight in. It turns out that sunlight reacts with the tape, and as a result the tape begins to chemically bond with the marley after a few months, so that when you pull the tape up, it leaves a residue that is actually a chemical brew of marley and adhesive. In order to avoid this chemical reaction, we had to pull the tape up more like every other month. Dick, you must not have had direct sunlight if you only retaped only once a year?

I live in Ithaca....we don't know what sunlight is...well, it does show up a little less than half the year.....most of that is between May and Oct. It's pretty much grey from Oct 15 until Mother's Day.

The window faces east and the sun is gone by 10 am or so. Maybe we should replace more but we are lazy. Formerly used Permacell tape until it was bought out. Then used it's replacement which was claimed to be the same but we all know better and has been discussed here often in the past. Now just used BMI's own brand. Pretty good at leaving no sticky on the floor.
