I think most rental company trucks have the height printed on the side so you and read it from the side mirrors, as well as over the front windshield.

It seems like a good idea for any institution that has company trucks or vans to post this information in a conspicuous place in the cab. And if you know you have low bridge in your immediate area, you should make a point of mentioning it to anyone who may drive your vehicles.
