[SML] HDMI ?

Had a weird (to me) HDMI problem last night.  Hooking a slightly used 
BluRay disc player (that worked fine over the last year) to a working 
fine TV.  HDMI to HDMI got the BluRay logo screen but NOTHING from the 
playing disc.  All OK  w/ a component cable but only w/ the HDMI cable 
COMPLETELY  disconnected from the BluRay. Swapped out HDMI cables -same 
symptoms.  Can a HDMI internal connector get crossed wires ???  The 
BluRay traveled in a car for a few hours before setup.
