[SML] Decibels

I was told there would be no math.

Thanks. Knew exponential was wrong, but Richard had just given me one of
his rare compliments in another thread so I stood down. And I'm not sure
what a lineal scale would be anyways, maybe one that counts how far removed
a cousin is?

It's really difficult in a world that has forgotten turn signals and say
"me and you" rather than "you and I" to get to upset at this minor language
indignity. Having been a teenager in the 1960s when my parents were nearly
in their 70s, I emphasize with their concerns.
